Conducted elementary school classroom screening of children with potential need

Responsibilities included coordination of per diem staff, staff mentoring, staff
interviewing, interim Occupational Therapy rehabilitation team leadership, and
student supervision. Served as lead Occupational Therapist for Reflex
Neurovascular Dystrophy (RND) interdisciplinary program, a specialty program,
treating children with amplified musculoskeletal pain. Program development in
this position included creating and establishing an interdisciplinary Occupational
and Physical Therapy outpatient based RND clinic, interdisciplinary evaluation
and progress forms for RND program, department competency guidelines,
treatment protocols, and program behavioral guidelines. Provided evaluation and
treatment services for children of all ages in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation,
and outpatient settings with diagnostic ranges including sensory processing and
developmental delays, brain tumors, acquired brain injury, orthopedic injuries,
congenital syndromes, and brachial plexus injuries. Designed, fit, fabricated, and
evaluated the effectiveness of adaptive equipment and orthotic devices.
2002-2003 Occupational Therapist, Delaware County Intermediate Unit, Media,
Pennsylvania
School-based occupational therapist. Assessed and treated children ages five
through twenty-one with severe motor, sensory processing, positioning, and
communication needs in a school-based setting. Collaborated with team members
to design most functional seating systems and access to communication devices
for students. Incorporated assistive technology applications into daily routines of
students to maximize classroom performance. Led activities of daily living and
pre-vocational groups promoting acquisition of practical life skills and maximum
level of independence.

after school hours with varying diagnoses (traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy,

seminars, creating a screening lesson used in forty-two pre-school sites to identify
at risk children, evaluating the efficiency of early intervention services delivered,
monitoring the quality of early intervention services delivered, and instituting a
motivational program for all employees.

Summer 2021 Faculty Institute, IDEAL Course Design in Canvas: Co-designed IDEAL
(inclusive, equitable, accessible learning) weeklong summer on-line faculty institute intended to
support faculty with application and examination of evidence-informed pedagogy with course
design while supporting the transition to a new Learning Management System (LMS), Canvas.
Institute centered on guiding principles of antiracism, equity, and Universal Design for Learning,
while being grounded in the college’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion Statement, and strategic
plan. Facilitated faculty workshops guided by evidence-informed pedagogy with active, guided
work sessions. Institute had 125 faculty participants. Sponsored by The Center for Faculty
Excellence, Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY. Additional funding of $5,000 received (May 2021 – June
2021).
Early Career Excellence Institute 2021 (stages 1-2): Co-designed and facilitated synchronous and
asynchronous sessions for early career faculty at Ithaca College using an online format. Sessions
focused on exploring, applying, and critiquing evidence-informed pedagogy in higher education
while aligning with the strategic plan of the college. Coach faculty through a process of
reciprocal classroom observation sessions. Develop curated resources and curricula for the
institute through a combination of on-line learning modules.

Responsibilities included co-planning and facilitating New Faculty Institute, wrapping up Early
Career Excellence Institute for 2019, and supporting faculty in group and individual sessions
with the shift to remote teaching due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Program Development and Implementation in this role:
Summer 2020 Faculty Institute, Flexible by Design: Co-designed and instructed 5-week on-line
summer workshop series for 300+ faculty across all Ithaca College schools with a focus on
flexible pedagogy and instruction (in-person, hybrid online, and hy-flex combinations).
Universal Design for Learning, antiracism, and equity were key features of the institute. Served
as the lead designer and facilitator for module two of five: Enhancing Significance by Aligning
Course Elements. Each module consisted of five asynchronous units and two synchronous
workshop meetings. To date, this is the largest event focusing on pedagogy at the institution.
Sponsored by The Center for Faculty Excellence, Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY. Additional funding
of $5,000 received (June 2020 – July 2020).
Early Career Excellence Institute 2020 (stages 1-2): Implemented asynchronous learning
modules interspersed with synchronous sessions focusing on pedagogical strategies of
engagement, building community, and reflective teaching practices.
Universal Design for Learning Faculty Book Club and Discussion Series:
Designed curricula and curated resources for a bi-weekly faculty book club and discussion series
focusing on exploring and applying the evidence-based pedagogical framework of Universal
Design for Learning in health science courses. Discussion series was a blend of synchronous and
asynchronous sessions. Program designed to cover the span of an academic year, was shortened
due to COVID-19 pandemic. Program offered to all Health Sciences and Human Performance
(HSHP) faculty at Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY. Supplies funded by HSHP Dean’s office.

$3,000.00 awarded. (August 2018 – August 2019).
Selected as one of the first of two faculty teaching fellows providing support to all Ithaca College
faculty through the Center for Faculty Excellence with an aim to enhance student learning and
performance by addressing teaching and scholarly challenges. The Dana Teaching Fellowship is
awarded to faculty members who have profoundly influenced Ithaca College students through
sustained and significant contributions to pedagogy and scholarship. The goal of the Dana
Teaching Fellowship is to deploy pedagogical and scholarly expertise across the campus through
faculty networks.
Responsibilities included co-planning and facilitating New Faculty Institute, curating and
reviewing research on learning spaces in higher education, assisting with grant writing for
learning space redesign through Steelcase Education Furniture.

Early Career Excellence Institute 2019: Co-designed and implemented asynchronous learning
modules for faculty participants that complimented synchronous institute events and discussion.
Asynchronous modules included topics of learner agency, academic rigor, building community,
group work, assessment, and reflection. Asynchronous learning modules modeled the Universal
Design for Learning framework for faculty participants by providing multiple options of
engagement, representation, and expression.

Steering Committee for Ithaca Mobile Pack Fall 2017 – present: Ithaca Mobile Pack brings the national
non-profit organization, Feed My Starving Children to Ithaca each fall. Volunteers come together over the
course of four days to pack meals to be sent to children in need of food around the world. Meals are a blend
of rice, soy, dried vegetables and a nutritionally complete blend of vitamins and minerals. They are packed
into bags which are sealed, boxed, placed on pallets and shipped where needed. Served as a site co-
coordinator for the local site that hosted the mobile pack for October 2017, 2018, and 2019 events with over
1,400 volunteers each year. 2020 and 2021 events on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Advisory Panel for Letchworth State Park Autism Trail Fall 2015 – present: Invited to serve as a
member of Advisory Panel to review and modify plans for a 1-mile nature trail at Letchworth State Park in
Castile, NY. The Autism Nature Trail (The ANT) is designed to give individuals with autism a safe sensory
based experience in nature. The advisory panel was charged with assisting with measures to help raise
funds to construct the trail as well as provide consultative services for the design of the trail. The ribbon
cutting ceremony for the trail was October 2021. The campaign for The ANT raised $3.3 million dollars.
