programme awards, challenge badges and county merchandise. There is the option to pick up from
The Trefoil Centre, or have your items posted to you.
As with anything new, if you think there are teething problems with postage costs etc, please let us know
before you make payment so that we can investigate and make any tweaks that are needed. If you
don’t tell us, we won’t know.
If you are looking for county branded clothing, this can be purchased here.
NEW FORMS
REN FORMS - If you are planning to go away with your unit, please note that there is a new REN form
available on the Girlguiding website

your local commissioner by also complete the names and membership numbers on the county REN
process form.

REMINDER A Safe Space
Please don’t forget, no unit should meet if there is no one present who holds a valid A Safe Space 3
training. This also applies if there is no one who is 1
st
Response trained.
If you find yourself in this position, you must either cancel your meeting or find someone with the relevant
qualifications to attend. Please remember to share the risk assessment for what you are doing with all
adults who support you.
GROWTH Recruitment Boxes
We’re delighted to see our recruitment boxes are being borrowed regularly. We’ve had some great,
positive feedback and they proving really useful.
As they have proved so popular, the Growth Team have agreed to put together two more boxes. These
will be homed at other locations within the county, so they are more easily accessible for those of you
who live further away from the Trefoil Centre.
Due to their popularity, we are now introducing some clearer guidance about borrowing them. This
means we will have the chance to check and restock the boxes, then have them ready for the next
person.
If you borrow a recruitment box, we will ask:
1. You arrange to return the box by the return date we give you.
2. You pay to replace any broken or missing items.
If you wish to borrow one of our recruitment boxes, please send an email to
admin@girlguidingleeds.org.uk with the following information:
Your name and contact details.
Who you are borrowing the box on behalf of, e.g. your unit, division, etc.
The event you are attending and the date it is being held.
Who will be collecting the box, and the date and time they will collect it.
Date by which you will be able to return the box.
Please give us as much notice as possible, as we cannot guarantee availability and will loan the boxes
on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
Please note, we will not loan boxes unless you can assure us you can arrange for it to be dropped off
by the return date, as we have other people waiting to borrow them.

External First Aid certificates
Lots of our volunteers have done first aid training outside of Girlguiding, or are trained medical
professionals. There's a new process to make it easier to recognise these qualifications within guiding.
You can now upload the certificate onto the learning platform. Our regional first aid verifier volunteers
will either approve the training or help you with further training. To be able to upload your certificate you
must complete the 1st response e-learning.
Further information can be located here.
